He is the President of the United States!!! Probably no longer the leader of the free world though. That will probably pass to Angela Merkel.

Having a doctorate or terminal degree, and numerous political positions, does not qualify one as a leader, or for leadership. Case in point, Barack Obama. Obama & Merkel are both very smart people. Their motives are questionable and neither is a leader IMHO.

I would hardly call Donald John Trump a leader. He is a demagogue. Someone who plays off of the emotions of others for his own personal gain.
