Came across this site today when thunderstorm was in the area. You can actually see live strike and the shock wave or sound wave proceed out. and when it get to your area you hear the bang it its close or the rumble if it few miles away. Check it out the next thunder storm if interested. You have to move the map around to get to Florida and enlarge to get good view of immediate area. or you can look at lightning strikes around the world?

yep this was one source my employees subscribed to and used in our business provided accurate information on the location of lightning strikes fascinating stuff

Hope everyone shuts down their computers and TVs and UNPLUG them from the wall outlet, PLUS UNPLUG your internet connection (DSL or CABLE) when lightning is in the area. Lightning is more likely to come in through the cable, sat dish or twisted pair than through the power.
