its going to open up an ugly can of worms. We can start with me. I want that little Italian guy with the mustache removed from all pizza commercials, boxes, etc it is highly offensive and is disparaging to all Italians.:D

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Monday that a law forbidding official registration of offensive trademarks unconstitutionally limits free speech in a case involving a band called The Slants, an outcome the government has said could lead to a proliferation of racial slurs as sanctioned trademarks.

The court ruled 8-0 in favor of Portland, Oregon-based Asian-American dance rock band The Slants, which had been denied a trademark because the government deemed the name disparaging to people of Asian descent. The band challenged the rejection as a violation of free speech rights under the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment, winning at the appeals court level before the government appealed to the high court.

It is a stupid court case. Wasting people's time because someone might be offended by a trade name. Out of all the things in this country that really is hosed up, someone wants to waste time on this?

I should have written more about this decision. The Vikings led raids that killed many and I have often wondered why some do not find that name offensive same with all the versions of pirates you have in names for sports teams.

I remember a Sambo's in around the D.C. area, probably in Maryland a long time ago. No one seemed to give it a second thought.

You think that would not get an outcry from the African American community in 2017?

I believe that they should get over it. I've also seen a place called Whitey's. No one got up tight about that one, that I know of. Another place was called Red's. PC is over rated.
