Digitizing music from 45rpm

Is there any business or Club within The Villages that can take a recording from a 45 rpm record and put it on YouTube or digitize it?

What you need is a turntable with a USB cable so you can plug it into your computer. Ion brand was the first I've seen, I bought one about ten years ago at Best Buy for $129. I see them available now at Walmart for $56.99 and it the website shows that the Summerfield store has them in stock. For 45's you'll need one of those small plastic center pieces to put on the spindle, it might be included. They'll be software included that you'll need to download on your computer and then it can assemble the songs you record and then put them on youtube, or burn on a CD, or whatever you want to do with them.

Thank, John, but I have just one old record from 1941 with a voice that is dear to our family. We are anxious to hear it. It's not singing; just a reading of a story. I will wait to see if I can contract someone to convert this for me.

I have a turn table, but will need to check if I have cables and adapters to connect to PC. If so, I can save to CD of DVD type file, and put on a thumb drive. You would have to post or email.
There is a firm that advertises conversion of various media to DVDs, and they should also have the capability of doing this. Send me a PM if you are interested, as I will need to do some setup to make sure this all works before you would come over.

Hi John, not sure what a PM is, but here's my reply! If you are willing to give it a try, I would offer a donation for your efforts.

It cannot be a 45 rpm record if it was recorded in 1941. More likely a 78 rpm.

I'm sorry, but I got rid of my turntable when I disposed of my 4,000 album collection in 2011. This record from 1941, did you check to see if it was available on CD from Amazon or CD Universe? Even if it's not, it might have been and is just out of print, check eBay for someone selling a used CD copy.

PM is a private message, I do not post my phone or email on open forums.

That could be. The record is the size of a 45 but must have been recorded in a 78 speed. Thanks.
