Hot Water Heater replacement
We need some suggestions on a reliable company/person to replace our "Gas" Hot Water Heater. Momma is not gonna be happy if I don't get this replaced.... like really soon!
Thanks, Roy |
Try your local gas company.
The big box stores should also be able to furnish installers. |
lowes /home depot/ or any plumber

Mike Scott plumbing, or any plumber can do it. I highly recommend including an expansion tank as part of the project, to regulate the pressure. It will cost a little extra, but it is the standard package for the new homes.

Water Heater Payment Plans - Peoples Gas
Try this link - this program is working very well for me for about 2 years now. |
I had Mike Scott plumbing install a new hot water tank last August. Teco had a program where they will actually subsidize part of it. I think it was $600 installed PLUS Teco will bill you $10 a month for 60 months on your gas bill if you want. Mike Scott plumbing can tell you all about the program. Vinnie in The Villages

Thanks for all the help with suggestions. I called TECO and they offered three different name brands but only one model on each. We replaced with a comparable model of the same brand we had, AO SMITH. Next day service and the $9.99 added monthly to the gas bill interest free for 60 months, surely made it worth while, no out of pocket money. They also applied the $350.00 credit. So... I'm not sure if it was a great deal, but Momma now happy, so thanks again.

The expansion tank is installed to eliminate the back flow preventer that older homes have. There is no safety reason for it only to save the builder money and without a check valve on the supply to stop back flow of hot water into the cold supply it is worthless to the home owner. The temperature pressure relief valve is a safety device set at 210 degrees F and 150 psi. The pressure rating for cpvc is over 1,000 psi the fixtures are rated at 150 psi. Raising the temperature of water that is roughly 75 degrees to 120 degrees has barely any pressure difference. It's a water heater why would you heat hot water?

We recommend Dunstan Plumbing. I had two other plumbers trying to solve a problem and they did things that did not work. The guy from Dunstan was able to figure it out and fix it. Have used them for different things, including replacing a gas water heater. Prices were fair.

I had my electric water heater go out on the morning that Hurricane Matthew (October, 2016) was to hit that evening. I called Home Depot and they gave me an 800# to call. I called it at 7:40 AM and by 12:30PM on the same day a new one was delivered, installed and my old one taken away. Not sure about a gas one but I'd call them to see if they do gas ones.

Call FLetcher Plumbing, they can do that for you as well. 352-509-7130
