Anyone else having trouble connecting to their intetnet today? Told by the 800 # that it's due to clouds and weather here today Friday. Had to sign up for the insurance and Tech coming out Monday to see what my problem is.

I think someone has led you off in an improper direction. Pay heed to the computer techs when they respond to your post.

Reboot your modem.If that does't work call your ISP. Sometimes the bird that brings your false news has trouble finding your house due to cloudy weather. As for internet insurance I have a bridge I need to sell.

Exede is satellite based. I am curious as to why you selected them as your Internet Service Provider when there are several coax/fiber based offerings at lower cost and probably better reliability in The Villages.

This service was recommended to me by Direct TV at the time I went with them, also I have rebooted my modem well over 10 times in the last 36 hours to no avail

It looks like you are north of 466A so your available land-based ISPs are Comcast and CenturyLink. I don't know what sort of deal or commitment you have with Exede but if you can switch you may find the land-based ISPs more reliable.

I have exceed up north because it's my only option. Cable companies refuse to run fiber when there are less than 15 homes per aerial mile, and there are no regulations requiring them to. Satelite internet is much slower, more expensive, has very restrictive data caps, and slows to a crawl when the weather is bad. Also, when there is heavy usage traffic on the satelite speeds slow way down. Direct TV told you to use exceed because they have a business arrangement with them where they get paid to steer your business their way. Given an option between satelite and cabled internet, go with cabled every time. The difference between my Comcast internet at the Villages and satelite up north is like night and day!

OK, in that case you also have Spectrum (aka Brighthouse) as an internet option.

just curious....what is the speed they promise...and how much do they charge....I know many years ago they only had speeds of about 4 to 10mbps and wanted about $45 a month
