Red Velvet Ant/Wasp Warning
 

Just saw what I thought was a truly beautiful ant -- red and black and fuzzy. (I'd post a picture or a link but this iPad won't let me do that.) Looked it up and found that it was actually a wasp. This is the type of insect a child will try to capture -- the colors attract, it doesn't fly and moves just quickly enough to be a challenge. Sadly, it has an extremely painful sting. So, please watch the grands that they don't go after this one.
