Motor Racing Fan Club
 

The next meeting of The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club will be Wednesday, July 5 at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center, going green at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker is Ann Young, the owner, operator and promoter of Bronson Speedway in Archer Fla.

Young, who lives in Long Island, N.Y., bought the facility in 2011 and is focused on offering the family experience of small-town, Saturday night, grass roots racing.

Owning a track that's been around for about 40 years and has been through several owners and managers has meant Ann has had to come up with ways to draw fans and race teams that may have had negative experiences in the past. Young relies on her experiences at Islip Speedway on Long Island, going back to her early childhood.

Club meetings are open to all Villages residents with appropriate Villages ID.
