Backing Tracks & Local Performers -- a Question

OK, I am not a performer and probably never will be! I played a little rythm guitar in the sixties. I do like to sing, but could never be a lead vocalist -- would never be comfortable with just a mic in my hand and can't move like Mick Jagger. I do enjoy playing a few chords at home and singing. I've noticed many local performers who play and sing to backing tracks. I know I can (and have) downloaded karaoke tracks from YouTube but there lies (for me) two issues. First, the quality of most of these is quite poor. And second they are usually only available in the original key -- which often isn't a key I can deal with (either vocally or with my limited guitar skills). So I'm wondering, where exactly do our local performers get the tracks they use, and if bought, how much can I expect to pay for a custom track.

I am hoping some of you will take the time to enlighten me!!

I would go up to the performers at the square, when on break and ask, them.
