Replacement for CodeRed
In todays Daily Sun, there was an article that the existing CodeRed alert system for Sumter county is being turned OFF September 30th.
According to the article, existing CodeRed users will NOT be transferred to the new system, you need to call 352-689-4400 to register on the new system, or go to Emergency Management | Sumter County, FL - Official Website to register for the new system. Also according to the article, the text messages will show coming from phone number: 352-689-5280. Hope this is helpful. PS. There was no info on how other alerts that you may have signed up for on the CodeRed system would be handled or if they would continue. |
CODE RED? We can't handle the truth! Sorry.

New site appears to be up and working. If you install the app on your phone you can customize alerts, I did not see these options on the website.

All three counties are using the same service. Here are the website links to register your cell phone so you can receive at minimum a phone call and a text. You can also register any other phone numbers you want.
