Does anyone know where you can take old TV's. 10 year old flat screen that won't turn on.

You simply leave your name, phone number and description of item. They will call back within 48 hours to schedule a pick up. Easy, peasy!

And they definitely do take TV's

I put mine out on garbage day (42 inch flat screen) and they picked it up.

Once in a while a neighbor will put out a TV in the evening for pick up the next morning and it will be gone within a few hours. We live on a street with a lot of traffic so maybe that does not happen in areas with fewer cars and golf carts going by.

I did put out a quite heavy TV and that remained until the garbage people retrieved it.

We recycled our flat screen through Best Buy, but there was a charge to do it. IIRC $25.

You obviously have a different standard than I do. There is no way that I would ever pay 25 dollars to throw something away. Our taxes and fees pay for pick up and disposal of household items and appliances. I don't even know what recycling means with respect to a television.
