Sealing grout per Villages Warranty Office
I've been going back and forth on this and reading posts about warranties not being honored if you seal your grout during the first year. I just called the warranty office and I was told that the warranty is honored during the year if you have cracked grout/ floor tiles even if you had your grout sealed. What they can't guarantee is that the new grout work color will match the color of the sealed grout. Seems reasonable to me.

Definitely seal the grout. Over time, all grout darkens with age and use, but it rarely darkens evenly. The sealer helps create a waterproof barrier for your grout that prevents liquids such as floor cleaners from penetrating each time you clean. It will also help with the accidental spills. If you have any repairs (warranty or not) later...there is very little chance you can match the grout. So the sealer is your best bet for keeping your grout looking new longer!
