Citizens Bank

Are there any incentives or promotions for opening with Citizens?

Chase and 5/3 give incentives like cash bonuses but have not seen it for Citizens.

Thank you in advance for sharing info.

Popcorn! And they are very convenient.

Ask the bank!

I have not seen any, I would ask the bank, as mentioned above. I really wanted to stay with TD bank, but the closest branch is a 45 minute drive. We have been with Citizens for over 4 years, and outside of a minor glitch with Quicken, they are very good to deal with, and close by if there is a problem.

I'd check, but their competitive advantage is that their branches are everywhere and only a short golf cart ride away. The developer leaves no source of income untapped. And before the " the developer can do nothing wrong " crowd piles on, I really admire them. A few mortuaries and cemeteries and all the bases will have been covered. Hey guys, its sarcasm but met in a nice way.

If so, I trust the amenity fee will be waived.

ATM's at all postal stations and the best popcorn around !!!!!!!

Citizens like most brick and mortar banks offer zilch for savings interest. Even with the monthly T bills at 1% they offer a tenth of that. Online banking is the only way to go, for us anyway. Highest savings interest available and free ATM access.

Somehow, I don't think the OP was speaking about a savings acct. (only) per se.
I agree with you regarding online banking for savings because you can get a better deal.

I became tired of the crowds at Citizen's and how impersonal it is and switched to a Florida bank at Pinellas Plaza.
Never crowded and they also have popcorn!

Even Chase is better than Citizen's.
They are all overthe country, and offer a bonus for depositing your monthly Social Security.

You have to ask yourself why the other banks need to buy their customers. Citizens First is a great bank.

Probably the main reason I stay with Citizens is the ATMs at postal stations and around TV.

About those Chase bonuses -- they will send you a 1099 at tax time.

We love the convenience and friendliness of the Colony branch of Citizens. That said, we use online banks for a savings account.

No, I don't have to ask myself why other banks offer an incentive to bank with them. The reason is obvious. What's wrong with that???

You make it sound like Citizens is the greatest (without saying exactly that) and there is no need to go with another bank.

To me it makes more sense to go with a bank that is everywhere. Wells Fargo and Chase qualify for that since they are all over the U.S.

Other than that, I left Citizens to go with a smaller successful bank -- CBC -- that has excellent service and was not jammed all the time. Community Bank and BB & T are also excellent banks.

The choices are many in the area and the above aren't the only banks around. Citizens isn't the only game in town.

Citizens First has a great online banking site with very easy bill payments.

The tellers, customer service, and managers are all knowledgeable and friendly.

ATM machines at about every mail depot.

Free popcorn!

What more do you want in a local bank? Use Chase or BOA if you want for travel - but for my local needs, wants, and convenience, I love Citizens.
