Terminal Boneheadedness

Is it my imagination or is this something in abundant supply with the contractors in Central Florida. We had a few appliance service needs that required three visits from the contractor. ( Ain't Whirlpool just topnotch ) Each time we paid them at our house exactly what was billed with a credit card. One of the installed parts turned out to be bad and we called them back for a return visit and the young lady on the phone tells us we still owe them $ 77.00 and they will not return unless this money is paid. We said " for what, we paid you every dollar we were billed ? " She remained convinced in some fashion we were ripping them off, but could not explain the additional charge, except to say it was owed and no further service could be provided unless it was paid. Ten minutes of arguing and we finally got to a supervisor who apologized and " fixed " the problem.

Also just had a water filter system installed last Thursday by one of the larger regional plumbers. Friday morning there is a puddle next to it on the floor. We called them and they came Friday afternoon to address the issue. Saturday morning rolls around and the puddle is back. Wiped it up that day and Sunday. Today it was back again. Inspected the system myself and thought the " o ring " on the pre-filter might be bad and called the plumber this morning. I stated during the course of the conversation what I thought and asked the scheduler to make sure there was a suitable " o ring " on the truck before they came back in the event that was the problem in an effort to save them some time and money. ( And myself further aggravation ) The scheduler responded " sorry sir, we can't take your word for that and have no way of knowing if that part is on the truck ". Note, they can call the truck and tell it to come this afternoon, but can not say " the customer thinks it might be the " o ring " and you probably should have one on the truck before making the stop.

These are just the most recent examples and notable because they were back to back. " Terminal Boneheadedness " in my opinion and probably no cure.

" Terminal Boneheadedness " I'm going to steal that one! I though it was just me. I hate when "things" make no sense.
