Scam!!!
I posted an ad in Talk of The Villages to sell a table for $75. I received an text from a person that asked for my name and address so that they could Fedx a check. When the check arrived this morning, it was made out to me for $1350.00. He texted me that his cashier mistakenly added the shipping charges and wanted me to deposit the check in my bank and mail the shipping charges via a moneygram to the shipper.
I was born at night, but not last night! I wont mention his name, because it's probably false, but the phone number was: 323-473-9244 DO NOT Fall For This!!! |

Good, you made him eat the FedEx charge ! |
Common scam you see on many classified sites, particularly Craigslist.

So, the shipping charge was supposed to be $1275 to ship a $75 table? Who would believe that?

We got one of those a few years ago, FEDEX said that the person buys a $1.00 check and copies it with a new amount. They are in another country so nobody will do anything.

A very common scam, I am really surprised anyone would fall for it LOL

We received a voice mail that our Windows license had expired and to call right away. Last time it was the IRS and they were going to send us to jail and then there was that trip we won..... Sadly many do fall for these.

I got a call today from "Windows Tech Support." I gave him an obscene piece of my mind and hung up the phone. Next time, I'm tempted to keep them on the phone for awhile and hen do the same thing.

The last time a fellow with an Indian accent called and said he was from windows, I said my windows don't need cleaning and hung up.

Hmmm, we just let the phone ring. If it's important just leave a note.
