Does TV have a Powerlifting Club?

I know TV has lots of different clubs. I wondered if there was a Powerlifting or serious weight training club. This is something I've been doing for a number of years and plan on doing for the rest of my life, God willing. I've read about the fitness centers, but there doesn't seem to be a gym like Gold's gym, etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes there is. It's called Havana Country Club. Happy Hour from 11 AM to 7 PM. Half price drinks.

Just kidding, not sure about a power-lifting club.

18, a friend of ours came down from up north last year and he couldn't find a serious gym either. He's been a weight lifter for a long time also. I just heard about a gym north on 441/27 that might have what your looking for and I'll see what I can find out about it and I'll also ask my friend if he ever found anything that worked for him. Tell me, do you ride a Harley?? If so, you two can pal out together if he comes here again this year. Good Luck, I hope someone has more info for you.

No. I have been a bodybuilder for decades (not a powerlifter) and was a part owner of a gym up North. The gyms and fitness facilities in TV are quite nice but not at all for powerlifting. In fact, Iam not aware of alocal "hard-core" gym around here (Anytime fitness does have nice room w/ Hammer Strength equip)

RS, is that the one north on 441/27, way past SS??? I heard about one there that's open 24 hours????

There is a 'regular' gym called the Body Factory in Belleview, on the right a few miles north of TV on 441/27; I think there is are a number of power-lifters there; and also the 24/7 gym in Summerfield, in Baylee Plaza, is Anytime Fitness, which has very nice weight equipment, etc. - that is a franchise; there is a website for it under the same name.

There is also a fitness center on 301 south of 466, at the intersection of 472 and 301, They have all kinds of equipment there. Try that place out.
THey have Martial Arts training along with other fitness programs. Opended sometime earlier this year. Core Fitness I think is the name

Thanks for your responses

I appreciate your replies. Maybe by the time I get there, there might be such a club. Of course, I have a few years to go, but it's never to early to plan. I like powerlifting, but by the time I retire I might be more inclined to do traditional bodybuilding routines. I also don't mind getting older because I can say, for 43 you're pretty strong.I hope to be able to say, for 80, you're pretty strong.

There is a gym not far from TV in Belleview off of 301. Here is the website for it. It is not a "Powerlifting Club", as I don't know of any, but it is a fully equipped facility.http://www.tooyourhealthspa.org/

Hi 18:
Yes it would be nice to have a power lifting facility. I have used wellness center and Laurel Manor site. I know its not the same but one can still get a good workout in. I have lifted weights recreationaly for 40 years and I enjoy it. I am early 60's and can still beat everyone at work with my bench pressing. Now on the downside I just had rotator cuff surgery in one shoulder and will be doing the other one in 6 months. I recovered fron surgery in about 3 days and the doc said it was because of strength conditioning. It is a good way to keep one health.
