3 murders in Tampa; same area, same time of night.

One young white woman, two black men, one with autism. All in last ten days. Very cloudy picture of killer caught on security tape. (WHY do security tape only show unclear pictures????)

Old neighborhood but very popular for young professionals to buy.

They are thinking it might be a serial killer.

Near a bus stop, the young autistic male got off at the wrong stop by mistake.

Actually, it is most misleading for the newspaper writers to call the area of the murders "Southeast Seminole Heights." As a teenager I grew up in Seminole Heights and the southern boundary was generally regarded as Hillsborough Avenue, with the next successive streets to the north being Mohawk, Comanche, and Powhattan - thus the Indian theme for the area. The area of the murders is southeast of this area.

Perhaps they have expanded the area that they call Seminole Heights, but the area where I grew up is now called "Old Seminole Heights" and this is the area where the "young professionals" have moved back in.

Actually, most of the "urban pioneers" who moved back in to Seminole Heights have been gay couples, who greatly improved the look of the neighborhood with refurbished houses with new paint jobs and tasteful landscaping. They were also activists who successfully lobbied the Tampa Police Department to drive strolling prostitutes off of a strip of Nebraska Avenue in the Heights. The ambiance of the neighborhood of the urban pioneers is different than that where the murders occurred.

Why do security videos seem to always be of poor quality? Because people skimp and try to save money by buying inferior cameras. It seems to be human nature. Also, the lighting and distance from the camera is inferior to studio quality.

The police must be very frustrated. Patrolling officers heard the gunshots of the third murder, but could locate no suspects.

The video of the person seen walking in the area at the time of the first shooting is being circulated on social media in an attempt to develop leads in the case.

With all the focus in Florida and throughout the country of tragic incidents and murders, what is so different about these Tampa incidents when there certainly is worse going on, i.e., the woman who put her two toddlers in the oven and baked them, as an example?

The reason for a poor quality video is very obvious and really needs no response, however Carl gave a good explanation. You get what you pay for and cheap in most cases gives you the same results.

The answer to "Where did this come from". Is that it has been front and center on my computer opening page for the last couple of days...on MSN news. They suggest it is a serial killer. The News caused my interest.

I had not heard about the oven thing. Dear God, where did you read that?

Perhaps the difference is the difference between a single incident, no matter how horrid, and a series of murders by an unidentified predator who walks among us, and concentrates his crimes in a small area, effectively terrorizing the people of that community.

The concern is heightened when all of the murders are committed on the public streets within a very few blocks of each other. Be honest. If you lived around there would you avoid going out on the street late at night?

Serial murders tend to attract the attention of the public. It is even more frightening when the victims are apparently chosen at random, so you might be next. That is the difference.

What is likely........

Tampa has had other crime series in which several crimes were concentrated in a small area. One of these was the "Hyde Park Rapist" of the mid-1980s. The confessed/convicted rapist, who raped over a dozen women in the Hyde Park neighborhood of south Tampa, In some cases he broke in to homes; in others he accosted women who were jogging in the evening. The attacks were entirely at random.

When apprehended, the rapist was found to reside in Hyde Park. He was not acquainted with his victims.

It is likely that the "Seminole Heights Serial Killer" will be found to live in the area of the murders.

Person of Interest

My first attempt at posting the video of the "person of interest" apparently went awry. Here is another attempt.

Person seems androgynous. Is that a hoodie? Actually it is a pretty clear video. He/her has a walk that might be able to be used against him/her.

Most people will avoid anyone walking a Doberman or Rottweiler.

Maybe the individual is a tranny although he is lithe, like a young dude - late teens, very early 20's - IMO.
