Maybe when it's dark? That's kind of how it works with a drive in movie...

brandju 10-24-2017 03:00 PM

Any idea of the type of food vendors that will be there?

I've always loved drive-in movies probably even more so with a golf cart. Unfortunately we begin our 2 day drive to the Villages on Monday. Have they ever had one of these in the past? Maybe if it turns out to be popular, they'll have them more often.

I sure do hope they do it often. What a nice memory from the High School times. I don't need a trunk to smuggle my wife into the movies now so a Golf Cart works now a days. Sounds like fun.

Although I wonder what they will use and how large the screen will be as well as how the sound is handled. It will be interesting to hear how well this goes.

I used to have a hot tub up here in my backyard. During a couple of Red Sox games I strung a sheet on the back of my house and set up my projector. Watched the game while having a few beers in the hot tub. Not exactly drive-in but a very enjoyable experience.

Well, no matter how well it goes, there will be complaining.

It will be too crowded. They didn't serve top notch booze. Some people saved seats. The movie screen was too big/not big enough.. Some folks walked around and talked and "Kawfee Klatched". The ground was wet. They had the wrong vendors. The neighbors complained.

Sigh.

Excellent Charity Y'all. Good for you.

They used to have the drive-ins annually about 12 years ago. They did outlaw grills then since it was on the polo grounds and I suppose wanted no chance of a fire. If I recall, had a blow-up screen and sound was a little difficult for those with hearing problems. Unique experience.
