Parkinson's Treatment

We will be moving to Fenney by the middle of 2018. My wife has Parkinson's Disease and will want a neurologist who specializes in treating parkinson's.

I'd be interested in knowing what anyone recommends.

Thank you.

Bob

FennyGuy, first, welcome to TV, as for your question. Also, try a Google, WebMD, or similar search initially, using TV as your location. I recall seeing some announcements about new treatments, but I did not follow these. Compass Research has a Parkinson study, and at least one of the doctors is a neurologist. There are several large hospitals 'nearby' that I think specialize in this condition. Hope this helps.

I believe that Anette Nieves, M.D. at Munroe Health, 8550 NE 138th Lane, Lady Lake, specializes in P.D.

Markam 10-29-2017 05:52 PM

Yes, Anette Nieves is a Movement Disorder Specialist treating PD. She is very busy so I suggest you call for the initial visit as soon as you know when you will be here. (352) 368-1615

There are at least two PD exercise groups. Check the weekly Recreation Dept news for times/locations.

The University of Florida has a world renown PD department. Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration >> College of Medicine >> University of Florida

Your wife will be well cared for. Welcome.

Thanks, Dr. Nieves looks like a good fit for Amy. She is currently being treated at USF's Morsani Center in Tampa.
