Armed fugitive alert received
 

Just received : The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is looking for a white male subject that was last seen wearing a black shirt, shorts and no shoes. He is in his mid-fifties, approximately 5 foot 10 inches, 250 pounds. This subject is wanted for battery, he may be armed and has made suicidal threats. If you see him do not approach, call the Sumter County Sheriff's Office at 352-793-2621.

Anyone else wondering where this fugitive is supposed to be?

OP, what service provided the alert, I thought I had the alert installed on my phone, and did not get it.

Was this one of their reverse 911 calls the SCSO put out ?

YES!!! We have caller ID. The number 1st showed up on the t.v. but the phone never rang. Then around 10 pm...a call actually came thru and said there was an "all clear" and things were now under control. NO idea why it didn't ring and message the 1st time.

On another note...don't remember signing up for this and it was the 1st such notification we've received.
