After his testimony last week, Page called “the opportunity to help clear the record as to the falsehoods from the dodgy dossier” “terrific.” But in many ways his hearing, which he conducted without a lawyer, raised more questions than it answered. The former policy adviser has presented himself as forthcoming, seeming almost too eager to conduct media interviews, and meeting with special counsel Robert Mueller and F.B.I. investigators on several occasions. But in a curious twist, Page refused to provide investigators with documents tied to the election, invoking his Fifth Amendment right. Page told lawmakers that “there could be risks that the information is not comprehensive," and expressed concerns that the information “based on some of these proceedings of the past year will not match up.”
