Moving from villages to sc

Unfortunately due to personal reasons, we must move to western SC. We have 3 bedroom room and am trying to understand my options and approximate prices to expect. I think I can do it myself but not sure about PODS vs UPACK vs PAKRAT VS ABF
freight all kind vs just using a moving company to load up, ship it and unpack.
Has anyone done this kind of research. Probably need a 16 ft truck or so. Just a guesstimate.
Ballpark estimates are welcome whether it is do it yourself or regular moving company.
Do not think I need storage but everything is up in the air right now. Info on storage pricing welcome too.
HELP!!!!!!
Thank you.

We checked out all the options and ended up renting a 17’ u-haul and hiring loading and unloading help on both ends and drove the truck ourselves. Cost us about $1000 total as l recall. (From Indiana to TV)

I did the same thing seven years ago when we moved here from SC. It was very close to $1000 total cost.

We moved here three years ago. After two astronomical bids from movers ( over $10,000!) We decided to pack ourselves and rented a truck from Penske. Penske has a better reputation for vehicle maintenance than U-Haul.

We hired helpers on both ends of the move, from a company on the line of Two Guys and A Truck. They were excellent, careful and worked the entire time.

We came from Minnesota, and I want to say our cost was closer to $2,000.

We have friends who had movers; one lost many boxes to theft. The other did not get her furniture for days. If you are physically able, moving yourself is well worth the trouble, IMO.

Vinnie, avoid PackRat if they are still doing business in Florida. PODS is fairly priced and your belongings are better protected than in a PackRat. I found out the hard way. ABF was attractive but the units available to us were very small. I also agree with the other poster about using Penske if you rent a truck. We used Villages Movers and they were efficient and reasonable. Good Luck on your move.

Not going to drive a truck
Think i will use UPACk and have them haul it. i like the flexibility of get perhas 17 limear foot but if I needed 14 or 18....no matter because I am charged accordingly.
Then all I need is a couple of guys to load and unload accordingly and of course blankets etc to rent
Thx

I am sorry that you are leaving us. Hope that you both enjoy South Carolina and have good health and enjoyable times and good friends. Moving is always stressful. We used a pod and had them load and unload. Good luck to you and Mrs. Vinnie.
