waistband elastic disintegrating on clothes
 

I brought down some clothes at the end of summer last year and hung them up in the closet. Went to put on an outfit today and the elastic sounded crunchy. Would make me feel better I lost about 40 pounds and that’s the reason why they won’t stay up.

Has anyone else ever had any problems bringing clothes down and the elastic giving out, after a period of time. Fit perfectly when I brought it down. It was a new outfit and had not been washed yet

I have lived in FL for 20 years. Very common problem. Due to heat and humidity. Usually happens to older clothes that haven’t been worn recently. I think of it as “oh, well”

It even happens to shoes in some tropical climates.
