Does anyone know what happened to the guys selling golf balls on the squares for market night???

The owner wanted to sell the business, he found a buyer and The Villages wouldn't allow the new buyer to take over the spot (no reason was given but a new golf equipment store opened near johnny rockets shortly after) . He also wanted to take the summer off as he did the previous year because business was very slow and wasn't economically worth it. The Villages told him he couldn't take the summer off! Even though he paid the rent ($40 per night) while gone.

Is he doing business elsewhere?

Are they selling second-hand golf balls in the country club pro shops?

That might explain why this guy was given such a hard time and the new owner wasn't allowed to come in.

They do and they always have, ever since the original owner of the business started selling balls on the squares.

:D That's a shame he's not here anymore because like the saying goes..... it takes a lot of balls to play golf like I do. I now buy mine on ebay.

market night has been a real let down lately. Not enough vendors an products to make it a go to place.

Best bet is to go up to the Market of Marion, Fridays through Sundays. They have all the used golf balls and other golf equipment you could want. Market of Marion is north of the Villages on Rt.441/27 before you get to Belleview.

I was a vendor at the squares for a couple of years and The Villages Entertainment is making it real hard for the vendors to operate... way too many rules and way to much favoritism. It's almost like the Villages Entertainment wants to do away with the vendors. Very discouraging for the hard working vendors. IMHO... Enough said!

That was a great place to buy used golf balls . $10 for a bag of five dozen.
