Any geologists in the villages?

I have an object I am trying to identify and would like to learn what it is.

The Villages Gem and Mineral Club meets Thursday nights 6:00 at Seabreeze. I believe there is a geologist or two in the club. And several people who can identify stones.

Take a photo of it up close. Go to google images and download it and the internet will search for like objects for you. I have had luck doing this with plants and flowers.

Did you dig this “object “ up or did it fall from the sky?

I think you can take it for granite...that there's at least one retired geologist here.

Of quartz...I could be wrong.

Happy to have intrigued other villagers.
It is a cluster of small reflective pieces which can easily be brushed off. Not sure if it fell from the sky or was dug up.

Doesn’t look like a “rock”. More like a man made material bonded together.

I'm thinking a part of the waste when producing asphalt. It is common to see pieces like that around an Asphalt Manufacturing Plant.

Where was if found?

C4Boston 12-03-2017 11:11 AM

It was in our previous home for many years. I came across it when we were moving here so took it along to see if someone can identify it. Getting curious as I get older I guess.
