:shrug:You posted and started this.... what is the answer?

From the District Web Site:
Utilities - Ways To Make a Payment

Ways to Make A Payment

Payments may be made in several convenient ways. Remember to write your utility company name and account number on your payment.

Drop and Go!: VCDD has a drop box at every postal station in The Villages. The VCDD drop box is to provide faster service for customers who do not need a receipt and want to save on postage. Please put your name and address and the correct utility name on the outside of the envelope, and make sure you drop it in the correct drop box. Payments are picked up once a day, Monday through Friday.

By Mail: A return envelope is provided with your bill. Please detach the top portion of your bill, write your check number and amount on the stub and your payment. Insert your payment and stub in the envelope, place postage and deposit in a US mail receptacle.

Online: VCDD Utilities has contracted with Point & Pay to allow customers to pay your bills with Master Card, Discover, American Express, Visa, or electronic check. A convenience fee on the amount is paid to Point & Pay. Customers can access the portal via the link on the District website at Village Community Development Districts. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Could this be the problem?

View Your Balance: You may also view your current balance via the Point & Pay portal without having to make a payment.

At the Customer Service Center: Customer Service Representatives are available in the lobby to take your payment from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. on weekdays, except holidays. Our location at 984 Old Mill Run also has a night depository located near the front entrance.

Auto-Pay by Bank Draft: This program allows you to make utility/amenity/trash payments directly from your US financial institution’s checking or savings account. If you choose this option, on your bill’s due date, the balance on your bill will be automatically deducted from your checking or savings account.

How do I get started?

To sign up you will need a voided check from your checking account. Then you can fill out the Authorization Form by downloading, completing, and faxing, mailing or dropping off this form. Continue to pay your bill regularly until you receive a bill that indicates "On Draft Balance Will Be deducted From Bank Account". You will receive a monthly statement for your review and recordkeeping.

I called VCDD and was told there was an increase in the amenity fee but the statements had already been mailed and billed and was too late to update

Well, that’s nice to know. Do you know what the dollar value of the increase is? Thanks for the info.

Topspinmo 12-09-2017 11:25 AM

Just want I like increase in fees and reduced upkeep and standards (installing 6 foot wind screens on pickleball and tennis courts). Your right this place is going down hill, just wait till the cut backs hit the golf course.

Did they say to you that they increased the amenities fees without notifying anyone that the amount withdrawn would be higher from what is on their bill?

They started 10 years ago

Sounds about right - that is a little under 2%. The amenities fee increases are tied to the CPI. The CPI for 2016 was about 2%. I am not sure what time period they evaluate the CPI over for the purposes of increasing the amenities fee. Mine increased by about the same amount this year.

:thumbup:Amenity Information

Amenity charges are contractual charges billed monthly in advance as part of the combined bill that is sent by VCDD Utilities.

The contractual amenity fees provide funding for Villages Public Safety, Community Watch, recreation centers, pools and services, gate and postal station facility maintenance, water retention areas, Village Center Community development common areas, Sumter Landing Community Development common areas and the executive golf course operations and maintenance.

The contractual agreement does provide for the amenity fee to be adjusted by the increase/decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The Consumer Price Index is reported monthly by the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics and measures inflation as experienced by consumers in the day to day living expenses.

This adjustment is based upon the provisions found in each individual homeowner’s deed covenant. Generally, the adjustment anniversary date is the Original Land Sale Date, thus your adjustment may not occur at the same time as your neighbors.

To view a copy of your Covenant, you may access the Community Standards Department page. Click on the link at the bottom left, choose your County and then your Unit/Lot.

If you need the assistance of a customer service representative to understand your bill or any of these charges, please call 352-750-0000.
