"Driver" Replacement?

Question: Keep getting an "offer" online from a company that says I need a new driver in my computer ( as a result of a "test" I allowed them to do.
Took computer to Staples ( where I purchased it ) and they say everything is OK.
Biggest problem I have right now is that when I attempt to type an e-mail the "words" that come up on the e-mail come up much slower that the rate at which I am, typing them--so it leads me to believe there is something wrong in the computer.
BUT--( and maybe I am answering my own question )--I just noticed that as I type this question, that the words are coming up as fast as I type them!
Maybe the problem lies in the e-mail provider that I am using ( I use "outlook" ).
Your thoughts?

Sounds like you have a virus, especially since you are seeing effects while in Outlook. There are several free virus checkers, I will let others provide the details, as I use a paid security suite. I think I am familiar with the "update driver" situation. This happens as many sites, as they are an advertiser, and when you click on the ad they install some software on your computer. Did this once, and it took me some time to find the software and remove.
If you are computer savvy, you can go into SETTINGS (note I am assuming you are using Windows 10), click on the GEAR symbol, and in the search box type add remove programs, you should get a list of all of the software installed on your computer, arrange by date, and look at what was installed recently, click on the offender, and then uninstall.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like Malware
1. Install Malwarebytes Pro free for 15 days then reverts to free non pro. Run a FULL scan.
2. Remove as instructed above any program called Driver........

Just a suggestion -- in the future if you get a popup offer online that you need a new driver, that you computer is infected with a virus, etc. don't click on the ad. Like others have said, it sounds like malware to me.

Hope everything is back to normal with your computer soon.
