You are so clever, nice and dear.
But I would like to have you HERE.

Would love to have you at our house in Hadley
Would love to have you here so badly.
We planned it and then it all fell through
Cause you had something important to do.

We tried it once and were side tracked.
Then you were here and I was back.
Then I was here and you were there.
I haven't hugged you and it isn't fair.

So until I see you clearly in person.
a sad heart and lonely one I'll be nursin'

One of these days I'll see you in the flesh.
