Items stolen from golf cart at Colony

Went to dinner at Colony Plaza tonight and when we went to get in our golf cart we noticed our two jackets and a blanket had been stolen. I hope who ever stole them needed them and doesn't sell them for drugs. Be careful out there, there are some grinches around!

Sorry to hear your items were stolen. Where in the cart did you have your items stored? We had a storage shelf installed in the front of the cart attached to the ceiling. We keep our windbreakers, a light weight blanket, one baseball cap and one sun visor in there. I know it is very easy for these items to be stolen but I always hope they won't be touched.

Might be time for "city rules"?

What are "city rules"?

My husband's wallet was stolen out of his pickleball bag at Rohan last summer. Looking back over the morning, all four of us figured out who did it and when. Probably too young a man to be a resident, and he never really got on a court and played. Now we don't take anything but our ID's to the courts. Especially Rohan... Too big and too many people coming in and out.

Maybe that's what you mean by city rules. Assume nothing is safe from theft.

Hopefully they needed them more than you. So sorry.

I like city rules for justice!

Villagers are easy pray for thieves. If you leave anything in a golf cart you are inviting people to steal! Do you also leave your car unlocked?

It isn't just outsiders who do the stealing. My friend worked at Palmer, where there are lots of cameras in the pro shop, and they have video of residents who came in and stole clubs from the shop. Don't leave anything of value on your cart, it could end up missing.

Whenever you go to a country club, do not park in the car lot in front, use the golf cart parking lot in back. This I know has happened at Havana a couple of times. A car goes into the parking lot, pops the trunk and grabs a golf bag off the back of a cart and is gone in 30 seconds.

I never, ever leave anything of value in my golf cart...unless it's parked in my garage. When I use my car I lock it when I leave it. Not sure why common sense doesn't carry over to golf carts. Thieves have been around as long as hookers...given the opportunity they will eventually take it.

Stupid me. Golfed at Palmer yesterday and left the cart parked on the golf side when we went in for dinner. Forgot to lock up my new sunglasses - gone! Luckily golf clubs were still there, lol!
