Question(S) for Fenney residents
Still trying to get to the Villages......
Interested in Fenney and building new. Question for you Fenneyites. Where do you run to when you forgot an ingredient or something on your shopping list? found our way to Fenney today and liked what we saw but don't know where the closest bank, grocery store, gas station, is etc etc Are there plans for such in the immediate area? Heard that 'eventually' things will build up. I have heard 'eventually' there will be a golf cart bridge or tunnel but curious how far you have to drive for conveniences currently. thanks for any info. |
A Publix, Marathon gas station and two banks are approx 5 miles direct shot from the Fenney front gate at the intersection of SR 44 and CR 428 (aka More Blvd)
|
I didn't know that Morse Blvd was once CR 428. I guess I never looked at an old map. My first visit to TV it was being paved and already known as Morse Blvd.
J&B1216 - for the moment you have a choice between going north on 468 up to SR44 (where a shopping center is that mic4me mentions) or over and up 301 for other choices. These are not golf cart accessible yet but eventually they will be along with new choices as the area builds up. |
According to the maps and plans folks have posted on these forums it appears a commercial area is being planned south of the turnpike along 468. Looks like it might be next to the upcoming regional rec center.

The closest gas station is on 301 in Coleman or on 301 at the turnpike exchange. There are two plazas in the works, both on the north side of 468, the Magnolia Plaza is west of the turnpike and the River Birch Plaza is east of the turnpike. It's also easy to get up to Pinellas Plaza via 301 and Powell road to 466A and lots of dollar type stores in between along with the Kristine Way Plaza at Morse and 44 with Publix. banks, gas station, drug stores, etc. It is building rapidly down here, the Village of Desoto neighborhood rec. center is well under way as well as the streets and street signs, shouldn't be long before we see homes going up over there and the southern section of Fenney is being built up rapidly. If you don't ride around for a week it's a shock to see the changes the following week.

thanks all for your help

You aren’t far....we just spent two weeks at our place in Fenney and even Brownwood is only 4-5 miles away. Golf cart access is coming, no doubt....love Fenney! Great people living there!
