This is why we're moving to The Villages in 17 days.... :-) We are smack dab in the middle of the 12 - 15+ inches band!

Think about coming earlier. Our temp is expected to reach 50 Saturday.

Let us hear from you in July.

I believe that when you lived in Florida, you lived farther south and not in a community that was chock filled with activities that were in air conditioning. I like the summer best here.

Hear? LOL. I really enjoy the summer heat, and the lack of crowds at the square, the less congested roadways, the easy to get tee times, the short wait for a dinner table, the not as many old and blind drivers to watch out for when walking your dog...

:agree:
I don't mind the heat either

I was just thinking today as I was out running errands, freezing my bippy off in the process, how many days I actually spend indoors here up north. Between the cold and snow in the winter months, and the heat and humidity in the summer months, I bet it is more days indoors here than it would be if I was in The Villages.

We spent an entire month of August in TV one year just to see what it would be like. Overall, we thought it wasn't bad at all. Sure it was hot, but it beat the stifling, relentless humidity that we have in the mid-Atlantic during parts of the summer. If that's the worst it ever gets in TV, I'll take it!

I'm stuck in MASS for the storm. Can't make the move South for a few more years.

I think you people are all soft. I went through school in Florida from 4th grade to 12th and never had an air conditioned school. Graduated from St. Petersburg High in 1968 and it's still open and in use. In fact it's 3 stories tall on the sides and back. It was built in 1923 and looks the same now as it did then.

Next time you're in St. Pete at Mazzaro's Italian Deli, go 17 blocks south, turn left on 5th Ave. and go 3 blocks and you're at St. Pete High.

No, don't remember bugs, I think those would be attracted if we had night classes with lights, but we didn't. The windows were usually wide open, but high powered fans were usually blowing which tends to drive bugs away. It also makes for wanting to go to sleep.

In the Army the sergeant would always say, 'checking your eyelids for pin holes, are you?". Same thing, sitting in unair conditioned hot classroom in Ft. Polk Louisiana in June and July after you've gotten up at 4AM and marched 5 miles. Thus is basic training, I was prepared.
