Baffled by GMAIL
All of the sudden, I can't print GMAIL messages. The printer works fine for documents, PDFs, and everything else, but when attempting to print the contents of a GMAIL message the device activates okay but puts out blank pages. Somehow the data, which I can clearly read on the monitor, doesn't get to the printer. It's an Epson ink jet printer, for what that is worth.
Anybody ever experience something like this? I checked in with the Google/GMAIL forum and found nothing relevant. |
You can always copy the content and paste it into notepad or wordpad and print from there

if you have more than one print option, make sure the correct printer is selected, it is possible somehow the default printer was changed.
|
Yeah, I know but still don't understand the root of the problem.
|
Well, the printer prints so the default must be correct. It just won't print gmail.

Thanks but I don't understand. If the print command makes the printer run and generate paper, how could it not be the defaulted one? Again, docs print. MSN emails print. Gmail comes out blank.

Assuming the problem is in the Chrome browser, clear your temp internet files in Chrome.
If that does not work, do a reset. I have had that happen in the past and one of those usually does the trick. Jim |
I've had my printer do very strange things before and when I change the cartridge all is solved. Worth a try.

Gmail must have the wrong default printer. You have to change it
|
This happened to me some time back. Instead of printing from print inside your file try using the file at the top left. It worked for me and then suddenly it started working the old way again also.
|
Also make sure the print color is not set to "white"

I have found that when something quirky like this happens either the app or the browser has had a bad update and the problem is eventually discovered and fixed. If you google you will see that this is a known issue and there are many suggestions depending on OS, browser and system.
|
Power down the system and your printer and try again.
