Kong...Skull Island

Really don't care for Samuel L. Jackson, but finding myself extremely bored, I watched this flick. I was getting pretty annoyed by some of the military terminology. They were using present day terms by a WWII airman and Vietnam era soldiers in 1973, etc. It then occurred to me that I wasn't bothered by the presence of a 600 ft tall gorilla that was protecting a lost tribe on an uncharted island that was perpetually shrouded by a storm, so I let it go. Samuel L. got killed by a big gecko, so that was good.

So it had a happy ending. Good

I liked that movie. Have seen it a number of times already.

Samuel L. Jackson is quite cool in some movies. His character was kind of a real jerk in this one though. Wish karma worked that way in real life.

I really like Samuel L. Jackson.

He's played both good guys and bad, in a plethora of award winning movies...so obviously I am not alone in my opinion.

As for Kong: Skull Island...I actually found it quite entertaining.

That guy is still acting? I thought he retired and moved out of the country last year.

Whatever happened to spoiler alert?

Sorry about that. I usually remember to stick that in there.

Nope, he's still here setting records...and doing good things.

Samuel L. Jackson is ranked as the highest all-time box office star with over $4.9 billion total box office gross, an average of $69.1 million per film.[2]

In June 2013, Jackson launched a joint campaign with the charity Prizeo in an effort to raise money to fight Alzheimer's disease.

He launched a campaign called "One for the Boys", which teaches men about testicular cancer and urges them to "get themselves checked out".

I'm going to put Kong:Skull Island on my list to watch. King Kong and Godzilla movies make for good Mystery Science Theater 3K comments. BTW, Samuel L Jackson has three upcoming movies. Incredibles 2, Captain Marvel, and Glass.

Like all films with special effects, there will be scenes where you just kinda shake your head and chuckle, but it's the underlying theme of loyalty and protecting the little guys (local tribe)...that I appreciated.

While certainly not a competitor for an Academy Award...I enjoyed it for what it is.

Good story line and acting....there goes my MST3K moment. Will definitely have to see it. And for those who aren't familiar with Mystery Science Theater 3000 here is a sample of how much fun it was.

And like John Wayne, he plays the same character in every movie.
