Hello all:

The driveway for our new home has these weird spots in them. I've asked for opinions on other forums and have received a wide variety of responses, I'll try here as well, have any of you seen something like this? They were here before we bought the house and its only the lower part of the driveway not the entire thing. I don't see them on any other driveways or sidewalks. The builder tells me its normal. Any opinions/advice will be appreciated.

My pressure wash guy, who I trust, says that they are common and due to a few small pieces of aggregate in the concrete that react with the concrete and create these spots.

He said that they might get worse if he pressure washed them, so he didn't do the driveway.

Mine are over 3 years old and not gotten any worse.

This is the reason that some folks have their driveways coated.

I don't agree with the builder that these are normal, but I have seen worse. He should do something to fix them.

Call home warranty and discuss with them if you have not done this yet. I am GUESSING these are spots from some construction equipment that had a leak.

I don't know if it is common, but apparently it does happen.

One thing to try is to rub the stains with a pumice stone from the pool section at Home Depot. If the stain is not too deep it may come out.

Oil drips. Very hard to remove >>

If it's oil, use some Resolve Carpet Spotter on them
