Gas Grill Location
 

We're building a designer home (Iris model) with an extended lanai, and I'm wondering where to put my gas grill. I don't think I want to grill on the lanai, so what are my options? I'm considering having a concrete patio poured off the lanai screen door when the house is built. Or I could wait and have it done after the house is built, when it may be less expensive. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I asked about having a similar patio poured when our house is built. Seems like the perfect time to me.I was told it wasn't possible, I had to wait until after the closing.
Go figure. I guess it makes sense to somebody.

If your going to have concrete work done do it while the house is being built.better for the sod,landscaping and the concrete will match much better. We have a designer and the patio pad was poured as being built works very good outside of the Lanai.

They do most of the concrete work in the villages. We had a 8 X 10 pad poured for $500.00. They removed the 4 x 4 pad, moved sprinklers as needed, poured and re sodded as needed. Very satisfied. All was done the week after closing and approved by the ARC.

Thanks Elevatorman, I'll make a note of the company name. On the basis of the comments of Skip0358 I think I'll go back to sales and see about having it poured when the house is built. Perhaps my previous sales rep was just trying to shut me up.

Why not get a quote from Jerome's Masonry Inc. He advertises on TOTV, and does very good work. Just trying to keep the work in the TOTV family.

Do you know for a fact that you will not be getting a concrete pad with your house? Our house came with a decent sized pad. However, other's in the neighborhood had next to nothing provided. I'm not sure what the rationale is.

Our home comes with one pad, we want another poured on the other side of the lanai for a hot tub. The additional pad is the one they say we'll have to get approval for and have it poured after the closing. Seems that it would be much easier to do as part of the initial construction. I guess it's not convenient for somebody, although it would make the buyer's live easier, not that anyone cares about that.

We bought patio blocks at Lowe's and put them beside the cement slab going into the back yard. Easy to do and very inexpensive
