TD Bank

Does anyone know of any reason why TD Bank doesn't have a branch in The Villages? We have Citizens, Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, BB&T. I'm sure I've left out other Banks. When I lived up North I did my banking with TD Bank because they were the only bank that was open seven, yes I said seven days a week. I don't mean just an ATM, I mean a living, breathing person who was a teller. Is there anyone else that is as frustrated as I am when I try to cash a check on Saturday only to find the doors locked. Can the "powers that be" please get us a TD Bank branch in The Villages. Help!!

As I recall the Citizens bank at Colony Plaza is open Saturday mornings, as for TD bank, thety were our bank of choice back up North, closest branch is about 45 minutes away. I specifically asked then bank rep and they mumbled something about a possible merger/purchase that would put them in this area, that was over 4 years ago....

Cash a check at a bank?

Boy, I haven't done that in a very long time.

Have you given thought to opening an account with one of the banks that are here, so that in addition to having someone to talk to...you can deposit checks, get some cash and take advantage of the plethora of ATM's all over the place?

With online banking, you can still keep your TD account(s) and just transfer money to the local bank...with a few key strokes.

It's still a bit amazing to me, that we can check our mail AND use an ATM (even if they're only Citizens First machines)...at the same location.

The bank determines where the branches will be. I believe there is one in Ocala.

I seem to recall one branch over near Bob Evans where all the banks are now across from Dunkin Donuts. This was about 3 years ago. The customers in The Villages would not put up with the foolish mistakes that TD Bank makes on a regular basis. This was not only my families experience but also our neighbors and friends in New Jersey. There is too much competition from banks who have their act together in Florida. I don't see TD Bank coming to life in The Villages. Getting rid of them was another plus about getting out of New Jersey.

Most banks have electronic or mobile deposit. Just deposit checks with your phone! Although our main bank is Citizens, we haven’t been to a branch in months...

I should have mentioned that I have an account with Citizens Bank also. I am complaining about the time that they are open and have staff available.

That would be TD Bank officials, who were you thinking that would cause a bank to open a branch anywhere?

Given that you can do just about everything but talk to a counter person when the bank's lobby is closed...I can't imagine too many banks that could justify being open more than 5-1/2 days a week.

While I don't understand it, I can appreciate the OP's fear of not being able to look a staff person in the eye. I believe most of us know that tellers are no longer required, and are provided for those that have that fear, or don't have the means to utilize the technology or both. Unfortunately for the OP, they will need to compromise to some degree, I hope they can.

Get a debit card and go to their ATM or any of the postal stations...Problem solved.

Forgot to mention TD Bank provides FREE bank checks to their customers. In addition gift cards are also FREE if you have an account. You can't match their customer service with any other bank. I have no problem with technology but I still enjoy the personal touch that tellers bring to banking.

Maybe there was a reason you thought they were so nice?

TD Bank Employees 'Forced To Lie' To Meet Sales Goals (NYSE:TD) | Benzinga

Quote:

The Original Report

Canada's national broadcasting news network, CBC, reported on March 6 that three employees of TD Bank came forward with what they describe as being "incredible pressure" from managers to push products and services onto clients to meet "unrealistic" sales goals.

"When I come into work, I have to put my ethics aside and not do what's right for the customer," one of the employees told CBC.

After a client provides their banking details to a teller, their screen shows a list of products and services the customer isn't subscribed to, such as overdraft, credit cards or line of credits.

Moreover, the updated CBC report even noted that TD's employees acknowledged they have broken various laws at their customers' expense to meet the sales goals.

Some employees even went ahead and added products and services without the client's knowledge.

"I was forced to lie to customers, just to meet the sales revenue targets," he said," a former employee said. "I was always asked by my managers to attach unnecessary products or services to the original sale just to increase the sales points — and not care if the customer can afford it or not."
