501 Road closure rumor?
 

Heard what I hope is a rumor at Brownwood tonight, from a couple who just bought a lot in Fenny, that 501 will close tommorrow and not reopen till December? Seems they are going to start building golf cart tunnels? We haven't seen any signs to state this on the roadways.

anyone else heard that....We use that road to get back and forth between homes and I would hate to have to pay for the turnpike every time, or drive thru leesburg or coleman.

It's true. There was an article a while back that said 501 will close 2/20 so it can be expanded to 4 lanes divided from 468 south about 3 miles. Roundabouts will also be built. All part of southern expansion.

Can anyone report if CR 501 is still open?

Thanks. I'm hoping you...or someone else...posts when it closes. We use it maybe once every other week or so to get to the turnpike. Would hate to get all the way down there to find out it was closed!

If someone would be so kind as to post when 501 gets closed I would be most appreciative. We are starting to do warranty inspections in Fenny now and that information would be most helpful to us.
