Blood, Sweat and Tears featuring Bo Bice
Last night at Savannah. It was a great, awesome show. Bo Bice sounded a lot like David Clayton-Thomas during the early era of BST. BST really gave the audience their money's worth last night and Bo Bice was a great showman.

My wife and I caught BS&T with Bice at EPCOT last year and I agree, he's a very good substitute for David Clayton Thomas. I was thrilled to see the band as I quite enjoyed them growing up in the 60s and 70s. She was even more thrilled with seeing Bice as she had watched and enjoyed him on one of those big talent shows on TV. Though the show was abbreviated (maybe 45 minutes), I couldn't quite see shelling out the bucks to see the "full" show that they put on at Savannah. But then, I have been told that I can be a fiscally prudent offspring of unmarried parentage (aka "cheap bast*rd").

Are there any original members or was it a tribute show?

A tribute band can sound great, but it adds something...at least for me...if there’s at least one original member. :) |
Original members of well known bands

I thought the show was exceptionally good. Each band member had their own solos and ALL played very well. The drummer got a standing ovation. I am a former trumpet player and was blown away with the range and endurance of both trumpeters. I'll be at their next show if they ever return.

33 states have laws that to use the name of the band it must have an original member. BST meets that requirement since Bobby Colomby, an original founder still manages the band. I think he is the only survivor of the original founders. In addition, the use Bo Brice and advertise him as part of the band therefore not sending a message that original members are there. A couple of the performers have been with the group for a decade or more but they rotate in and out since they have jobs with other bands. Trivia fact: The driving force behind naming rights has been Jon Bauman (Bowzer from Sha Na Na). His legislation is known as the Truth in Music Act.

Don't understand why they played The Savannah center instead of The Sharon. We were at the 8 o'clock show and thoroughly enjoyed it but the acoustics in the Savannah is horrible. We sat in the third row and if I didn't know the words of the songs I would have been frustrated because even though we were close Bo's Mic was very low.
