I wont shop at Best Buy

The Sunday 11/22 Best Buy ad has a Space on the lower left of the front page proclaiming "Happy Eid alAdha". What? Eid al Adha is the Festival of Sacrifice, the Greater of the two Eid celebrations. Can't imagine why they would choose to do that! They cant and won't say Happy thanksgiving or Merry christmas! I'm done with Best Buy!:cus:

I agree. I quit when they were one of the 4 businesses that provide all their customer credit card numbers to an on line scam company. This just adds more time to their sentence of my never using them. :agree:

I don't mind their "Happy Eid al Adha" remark so much. What jerks my chain is that they don't or won't give equal time and advertising space to all other holidays, both secular and religious. They should (if they are true Americans and truly want a level playing field for all) have Happy Thanksgiving wishes, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, etc., messages in their advertising. That being said, I fully support your boycott of Best Buy.

This is kind of interesting isn't it? Why would they select this one religious day to recognize, but not others. Somebody isn't thinking.

However, Best Buy in a corporate news release said, ""We do use the word 'holiday' in some of our advertising because it is meant to be inclusive to everyone. However, just as we have in the past, we will also reference specific holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa in our weekly ads, store signage and other advertising vehicles."

I was not aware of this!!

I just bought a new computer at Best Buy and the "Geek Squad" was a lot of help.

I wonder if this attitude is reflective of the high managements political/social attitude or a very bad mistake with advertising department or ad agency they use?

It doesn't look good for their approval rating for sure!!!

The Anti-Christmas Stores

Best Buy makes the list every year, along with Old Navy and Circuit City; another store mentioned this year was American Eagle or American Eagle Outfitters? I try my best each year to avoid these stores that go out of their way to be PC (secular); I'll leave it at that and not get into the political turf. Sears was on the naughty list for a few years also, but has gotten back in good "graces" in the last two (I think).
