He was 76 years old I am amazed he lived so long. What incredible contributions he made to physics!

Genius is often a great blessing and a heavy burden.

What an amazing role model for our handi-capable population! He will be missed. Condolences to his family.

Stephen led an interesting life. Although obviously quite gifted, he was initially not academically driven much, maybe even a bit of a playboy, until he was diagnosed with ALS. He soon got married and started having children and got serious with his studies. I view this diagnosis as a wake up call. He also lived a very, very long life considering his afflictions. His talking machine was invented by an American just about the time Stephen needed one. He was quite bemused by its American accent.

He has probably arranged for Elon Musk to fire his remains into a Black Hole, just to see if there really is Hawking Radiation
