Receiving mail at the Villages
 

We are renting a house in Tall Trees for Jan. and Feb. The owners do not have a mail box as they have been in the Rental Program. The owners cannot get down to the Villages before we get there. Can we rent a mail box somewhere for 2 months?

I thought that all homes had a mailbox assigned to them at closing and keys issued? Maybe the owners have never used it but I think it should be available.

It may be that the owners don't want to let renters use their mailbox -- too much of a chance that things get confused after renters leave. It may also be that the property manager has some sort of a policy about not handing out mailbox keys (?).

However, I'm pretty sure that you could contact the local post offices (find the one closest to where you're renting -- The Villages in Lady Lake, Oxford, Lady Lake itself) and they should have a mailbox you could rent. Also, I believe that the local Pack N Ship offices have mailboxes you can rent, which would be much more convenient but more expensive.

Go to a UPS Store and rent a box.
You can also get delivery of boxes also.
