Where to stay in DC
 

Taking a couple of grandkids to DC this summer and looking for any recommendations where to stay close to memorials, mall, etc. thanks

If you can find a motel/hotel anywhere on the Metro (Subway), you can have ready access to the Mall and most of the museums, etc. Stay in Va. or Md. and it will probably be less expensive. The subway is very easy to use and will get you where you want very quickly. Tip....there is an Einstein memorial right across Constitution Ave. from the Vietnam War Memorial, kids like to sit in Einstein's lap for a picture. You can spend lots of time in the museums so I'd recommend you spend only one day on the hop-on hop-off trolley's to get an overview the go to selected museums. The Building Museum is great on a rainy day and is near Chinatown if you are so inclined for Chinese food.
