Vintage stereo equipment
1 Attachment(s)
Just wondering if there are any repair shops within driving distance of the Villages that would work on vintage stereo equipment. I have an old Sansui 9090DB receiver from the 70’s that needs a thorough cleaning and possibly some replacement parts. Often the switches on the receiver don’t make contact right away so you have to play around with them switching them on and off until proper contact is made. For instance one speaker might be louder than the other due to poor contact which can eventually be rectified by repeatably turning the speaker switch. I did do some research and tried to clean it myself but it didn’t do much good. They don’t make receivers like this beast any longer so it would be great if I could get this thing working like new again. I do have modern Yamaha WiFi receivers but the Sansui will always be my favorite.

Unless this receiver has sentimental value, you may want to shop at the Goodwill store. All kinds of old receivers used to be available there fpr about $20 - 25. It may also be a place to get one for spare parts.

My brother still has a Heathkit stereo he built in the early 1960s. I have some 1970s stereo equipment myself. It does bring back memories
