A different kind of complaint against The Villages
I have a different kind of complaint against The Villages.
Oh sure...I play golf, softball, billiards. I bowl, swim, volunteer, go to the squares, take dance classes, attend social events, go to parties, and enjoy my friends. But here's where the problem kicks in... My kids can still get hold of me. In addition to (in spite of?) the activities listed above, I also spend many evenings watching the news and a show with my wife. I read. I ride my bike. I exercise. I actually play video games on occasion. I practice my guitar. I try to learn a language. All these activities are solo (or with my wife) and largely at home! How can I possibly be a Villager and enjoy being home that much!!??!! It just doesn't compute! I feel like I just don't measure up to The Villages standards for being ACTIVE!! :rant-rave: How do I deal with this intense "Villages Pressure"? ;) |
THUD!!
How embarrassing!!??!! I know the original "Complaint Against The Villages" thread was more fun and entertaining, but come one...can't I even get a sympathy reply?!? How about you CNM. I'd even take an insult at this point! :D |

I saw your post earlier and all I can say is maybe I'm not ready to move down there yet. I'm not sure I could handle all that pressure. :loco: |

As to your dilemma, might I suggest you quit being wrong on the internet so much...and get out more? :1rotfl: There, satisfied now? :loco: |
You need to pick up the pace, obviously!

So wake up, walk out to get paper. Eat breakfast. Walk to different room to watch news. Walk back to kitchen for lunch. Drive to mailbox. Take a nap in bedroom. Walk to kitchen for dinner, walk back to living room for lite conversation with spouse and watch a show on TV.
Walk to bedroom for 8 hours of sleep. REPEAT. Get a Fitbit, count your steps you may be more active than you think. |
