Knee replacement
We need to have knee replacement done. Has anyone heard of Dr. Messieh. Any feed back will be appreciated. He does side approach knee replacement.
Thank you Judy |
Optimotion Orthopaedics I am aware of Dr. Messieh. From personal experience, I would look no further than Dr. Nguyen, regardless of the wait time for surgery.
|
I have seen Dr. Messieh several times, twice for knee pain and once for a frozen shoulder. I think he is a great doctor and would choose to see him for surgery if I needed it.
|
I just had knee replacement with Dr Nguyen' partner. My surgery was 12-19 and I am still walking with a cane when I go outside. I am sorry I had it done.
|
Dr. Messieh did my anterior hip surgery, I was ready to play golf after 2 weeks but he wanted me to wait 6 weeks. Xrays showed other hip and knee would be next. I've chosen to carefully choose my activities and put off surgery as long as possible but want Dr. Messieh to do surgery. I highly recommend. Surgery was at Celebration Hospital, great care.

Dr. Nguyen runs a "knee mill", just do research on how many surgeries a day he does. Nobody should leave the hospital the same day. Vitals and blood clots should be monetured, he uses a turnicate, remember Joan Rivers. Also check Phillips Hospital reviews, not good. And, just why did he loose his association with Orlando Hospital?
Check out Flagler Hospital, they do robotic, less invasive, smaller incision and perfect alignment. Is only a 2 hour drive, I have 2 robotic knee replacement surgery. Only took Aleve after, had a femoral block which gradually wears off. My knees are absolutely perfect. You must be absolutely faithful to the physical therapy. |
Had 2 knees done by Dr Nguyen one at the Florida Hospital Alamonte Springs and the other at Dr Phillips. Both hospitals and there staff provided outstandng care. Outpatient knee replacement surgery is primarily is elective and only for those NOT on medicare. I honestly could have left the day of surgery but definitely felt more comfortable staying one night. Yes he does alot of knee replacements but there is a reason why. Hes good at it with good results for the vast majority of patients.
BTW every year I have had followup xrays taken and reviewed by his PAs..all is good! |
Dr. James Duke in Ocala is excellent! A skilled surgeon, excellent care. Could not be more pleased with experience with him and his team.
|
We had about a dozen people in our neighborhood use Dr. Nguyen for knee replacements, all with success and quick recovery.

I had one knee done Oct 2016 and the other done Jan 2017. Dr. Nguyen is the best. I live in Ohio and made the trip just to see him. I had the best care at Dr. Phillips. I only did 2 rehabs on one knee and none on the other. I was back in Ohio and driving school bus in 3 weeks. At that time he was 8 months out on surgery but I got on the waitlist and had it done much sooner. I am so grateful to have new knees and no pain.

I went to a seminar put on by Dr. rad Navi. He perform surgery at Waterman hospital I was quite impressed. Dr. Nguyen canceled me two weeks prior to my surgery because my sodium was a little bit low. My cardiologist told me to find another doctor. That was ridiculous and I waited for six months to get to this point.
Sorry, Dr. Jon Radnothy from Tavares |
Dr James Duke did my replacement. Put in a larger joint so, I have an over-hang and I've been in pain for 4 years. I've seen Dr Nguyen for help and he is amazing. I would only go to Dr Nguyen.
