Why is this happening?!?!?!
 

Twice today I’ve had a cart in front of me turn hard left from the diamond lane across both traffic lanes causing cars to lock it up to keep from hitting them.

It really seems like some people go brain dead when they get in their cart. I’d really hate it if their stupidity got someone besides them killed or injured.

There are only two choices...

Ignorance
or
Arrogance

All other excuses fall under one of the above.

At least blaming snowbirds is not one of the choices.

I know what you mean. It's unbelievable the things we observe daily with people in their golf carts and cars. The villages is the top test in defensive driving skills!

The other morning a woman blew thru a red light on the corner of Bailey Trl and St. Charles--the light was red for more than 15 secs. when I pulled up alongside of her, I told her she had run thru a red light and she replied" I didn't see any red light"--She had her face buried in her coffee cup

Oblivious--third reason

"Oblivious" = 'Arrogant AND Ignorant.'

its just plain stupidity.
And now if you fail to stop in time you will be sued by one of the commercial we see all the time on the Tube, because we didn't have control of our vehicle even thou these IDIOTS don't have the right of way and dart out in front of you.
These are the same people that think crossing the street in a golf path is a cross walk and they think they have the right of way. JEZZZ just stupid people!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. If someone does a stupid move in a golf cart, it will not be the person in the car that gets hurt.

There's a class on golf cart safety offered by The Villages Insurance on (I believe) a monthly basis. My wife and I took it before allowing ourselves to drive our new cart when we moved here last year. One of the things they covered was turning left from a diamond lane (and doing so directly is a BIG no-no and is the most common cause of golf cart fatalities in The Villages).

It amazes me that folks are NOT required to take this class before driving a cart around town while at the same time you are required to take 6 hours of classes (101, 102 and 103) before you're allowed to reserve a pickleball court.
