Not Happy with this Doctor

Hi Has anyone had a problem with Dr. Carl Ollivierre at the Florida Musculoskeletal Institute. He did a knee scraping surgery on me. It didn't help at all. Then I go and see another Dr. and he tells me my knee is worn out and has been for years and it needs to be replaced.
I'm very unhappy.

Thank you to all those who answered my post. I will be much more careful in the future.
That's why they say live and learn.

Unfortunately Dr's cannot know everything and that is why we get second or maybe third opinions on some procedures. My wife had a knee problem and her doctor said I can do procedure A and it will only work for a few months, can not repeat A but you will then have to go for a replacement. Maybe the scraping was something to try and if it did not work then the replacement.

An example of why it's called the practice of medicine.

We're old. Sometimes it takes drastic measures to fix something, and even then "fix" will not mean 100%. Reality sucks, but there you have it!

If you come out breathing And in this case walking it was a success in the doctor's eyes?:22yikes:

Medical care? I'M NOT COMMENTING ON THE NAMED DOCTOR WHO I DO NOT KNOW AT ALL.

How do you find a GOOD DOCTOR? You ask your friends and neighbors. Are they qualified-PROBABLY NOT. Are they advising you on the person's expertise or that they like the person's personality.

You decide to research the person's batting average. The best and easiest way for a doctor to have a great record is for them to only work on the best patients. This is far more common than many realize.

You decide to research law suits against your doctor. Another shock. Part of any settlement, THE RECORDS ARE SEALED.

Old advice, ask a nurse. Based on my experience-HERE-their lips are sealed. Legal concerns?????

OH and then who pays? I've read that 80% of all medical care is paid for by either insurance or the government. We have the guy paying the bills, that does not see the patient, deciding proper care and what they will pay for it..

NO WONDER WE HAVE A MESS

Doctors?

Hi, our experience in doctors is this:

1. One in ten is sort of OK
2. 9 our out 10 are more interested in your bank account than your X-rays
3. If you had a good doctor out of state, you should have brought him or her here with you.

Good luck and keep looking it is a long journey.
