Arnold Palmer Needs An Update

Took company there on Monday. The menus were dirty, the bar chairs were frayed & the wood work was chipped. Our server appeared to be new and could use more training, but the food was good. Anyone else have the same observations?

Chipped woodwork might be considered to be giving the facility "character." But dirty menus are inexcusable.

You might have considered calling it to the manager's attention.

Although we like Arnold Palmer Very much and its our "go toi Resturant" it could probably use an update!!

This is the case for almost all of the "Country Clubs" north of 466A . Time for the owners and operators to do some redo.

True, if it were just us I would have mentioned it to the manager. However I did not want to in front of company. I just hoped they did not notice the issues.

Yep..whenever I feel the need for high end style and elegance I head down to Mallory or Evans Prarie for the ultimate in chic dining experiences.

They have best paper napkins that they wrap their utensils in

karostay 05-30-2018 07:00 AM

I think you should have been compensated

The term country club, as used in TV is a much abused descriptor very much like motels that call themselves a resort.

Mediocrity prevails.

Then call me Mr. Mediocre, cause I'm good with everything here.

I'm curious ...

I assume that the developer owns the building. Am I correct?

And I assume that an operator leases the building. Correct?

Who is the leesee? How long have they operated it? Do they lease or operate any other restaurants in or near TV?

I did mention to the manager (Sylvester) how disappointed I was in Palmer Legends and that it should be the signature CC in The Villages. The proximity of it and the Arnold Palmer designed courses was one of the reasons to move here. If there is actually a Palmer name overseer, enjoy the golf but check out the restaurant. BTW, Sylvester offered a free dessert which I politely refused.

What are the annual dues at Palmers? Any of the other Villages CCs for that matter? Membership hurdles? There are plenty of private CC's in central Florida that will surely impress anyone finding Palmers to be in bad taste.

Annual dues at all CC's = $0. The restaurants are open to the general public. The TV CC's are not private. Except for use of the CC pools - but this is the Restaurant thread.

Methinks the poster already knew all of that...and was just being facetious.

As if the lack of dues or initiation fees, of what should be our premier facility...should excuse shoddy conditions. :ohdear:
