Rain water stains driveway

We have a downspout between car garage and golf cart garage and noticed rain from the downspout seems to stain the concrete. Gutter folks said the downspout can't be moved because of pergola over entry.

Was wondering if painting or decorating the driveway would be more forgiving.

Thanks for any suggestions,. Is it paint on the decorated driveways ?

Ours is epoxy and it is sealed every couple of years. I haven’t noticed any discoloration from downspouts but it will stain from certain things, like gas spills and drips from weed eaters!

You can have the downspout run under the concrete out into your lawn,

Fertilizer stains the concrete.

Pretty much everyone in Phillips Villas who have had landscaping done, has had the gutter next to the garage run under the plantings and come out in the strip of grass in front of the plantings.

See if you can pressure wash the stained spot on the driveway. I suspect something is washing off the roof causing the stain.

That sounds expensive. Might have to live with the staining.

Thanks

OP, if you decide to have the driveway painted or other wise coated, please have the installer add 'shark grip' or equal to the coating, otherwise you may end up with a skating rink when it is wet. As for your original question, we had some staining due to rain water (it matched what we get in the birdcage). At that time we did not have gutters, and the staining was just the run off from the roof. Take a look at your house and see if the downspouts can be relocated to another area. If this looks like an option, have one of the gutter companies (we used Hills) give you a quote. NOTE: the orginal gutters will probably need to be removed to alter the slope for proper drainage. Also, be careful, if you relocate the flow to the drainage area between houses, you may cause problems for your neighbor.

Hi, thanks. We contacted M & M Services; (found some recommendations for them on this forum) they said the downspout couldn't be moved because of the pergola over the entry way. I wasn't there so I'm not sure what they meant.
