Costumes in theaters?

For 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' I want to wear a dinosaur mask or dinosaur head when in the theater lobby.
However, I know after the theater shooting in Colorado years ago wearing face covering masks are considered dodgy by some.
Opinions: would it be appropriate to wear a mask in the theater?

Why? What? Where? When?

No.

As long as you're not wearing a trench-coat or loose clothing that could hide a weapon...go for it and have fun.

I used to get a kick out of the midnight showings of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'...and all of the costumes.

You may want to call the the theater first though.

For some reason I completely missed the Rocky Horror era. Thought I was too old or something for that kind of stuff. Now I wish I'd gone to see all the characters. What fun.

I missed it too.

I didn't miss missing it. I loved costume balls and Halloween parties and Mardi Gras. Never in my whole life did I want to dress up like a dinosaur or wear pink underpants and walk down the Avenue of the Americas. We are free to choose. I like it.

I always go dressed as the manager. Never had a problem.

Ask the manager what the policy on wearing of masks is at that theater. They may not even have a policy in place.

This, I believe, would be quite appropriate.

Damn. Another custom to add to my "Things I Don't Understand" list.

I never dressed up, but seeing the costumes and the audience participation...was hilarious. :D

Most of the people in costume must have seen the movie dozens of times, as they would do all kinds of things (confetti/water pistols/flashlights/etc.)...at certain parts of the film.

10 Ways To Participate In The Rocky Horror Picture Show

It was all in good fun and by making them midnight showings, it kept the real 'stick-in-the-muds' at home...because their bedtime was around 8:00PM. :1rotfl:

Plus the film has the longest-running release in film history. I never went, but our kids did. Maybe OP just wants to relive some of that era. I'm not sure it would be well received due to recent terror events, however. Times do change.

If I could find my garter belt and stockings, I'd go to any movie dressed as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. I'll bet they're still in a moving box in the garage.
